She paints what she feels. When a work needs fresh eyes, she steps away, turns it upside down, and comes back with new vision — a process that gives her paintings rare dynamism and depth.

A Life in Paint

Yvonne Porta has spent decades immersed in the world of visual art — painting, sketching, and exhibiting across Australia and internationally. Her studio practice is instinctive: she doesn't plan a painting so much as discover it, layer by layer, responding to what the canvas asks of her.

Her subject matter ranges widely — sailing regattas alive with movement and colour, still florals rendered with bold confidence, sweeping coastal landscapes, and intimate travel sketches from the ancient streets of Morocco and the waterways of the Nile. Each work carries the mark of a deeply experienced hand.

Yvonne's paintings are held in private collections throughout Australia and abroad. She continues to create and exhibit from her home in Nelson Bay, on the shores of Port Stephens.
